Pie: A Great Ending to a Thanksgiving Feast!

Thanksgiving, it is said, is as American as apple pie.  It is one of our first National holidays having been created after a proclamation by George Washington in 1789.  Thanksgiving is one our favorite holidays here at the Emerald Island Casino.  Together with Christmas and New Year, Thanksgiving forms the wonderful trilogy of “the Holidays”.  It is a time to gather together to celebrate our friends and family and to give thanks for the blessings in our lives.

Pie is a great ending to a Thanksgiving feast.  This year Chef Flemming’s is offering up not only the perennial favorite, pumpkin pie, but several double crust fruit pies as well.  These pies have delicate, flaky crusts brimming with perfectly tender fruit and include Cherry, Apple, Peach and Berry.  Old fashioned Pecan and spicy Mincemeat pies are also available.If you love a velvety smooth cream pie, you won’t be able to pass up Chef Flemming’s Chocolate, Coconut or Banana Cream pies!   For a tart and refreshing end to hearty Thanksgiving dinner how about a Lemon Meringue pie?
