Along with the cooler temperatures and falling leaves comes one of autumn's favorite flavors...Pumpkin! The warm golden orange color evokes autumnal treats... hot apple cider, caramel apples and all things pumpkin spice!!!!

A pumpkin is basically a squash.  The most common type is round, with smooth, slightly ribbed skin, and deep yellow to orange coloration. Inside their thick skin is a slimy stew of seeds and pulp. Pumpkins are native to North America and were originally grown for food.  Traditionally pumpkins were baked, mashed or stewed in savory dishes or in pumpkin pies.

We all know the story about the little piggies...you know, the one in which one little piggy ate roast beef, and one went “wee-wee-wee” all the way home. In that story one little piggy went to Market.  In the Emerald Island Casino version, five whole suckling pigs went to Market Street!  That’s right!

The weather forecasters are telling us that cooler days are ahead.  September 22nd was the official First Day of Fall! And, before you know it, the holidays will be upon us! ​

Emerald Island Casino is proud to announce that it will once again be entering team members to help crew a dragon boat in this year's Rose Regatta Dragon Boat Races and Festival.  The races and festival help to raise money for St. Dominican's R.E.D.

The last few months have seen amazing growth in Henderson's own Downtown Water Street District.  With new commercial construction and influx of new businesses, the energy on Water Street just keeps on getting more and more vibrant.  Water Street has long been the home of great street fairs, car shows and parades.  Now, coming to Water Street on September 30th, is the first ever live Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) outdoor show at the Henderson Events Plaza located at 200 So. Water Street.

While it still feels pretty warm in the afternoon, Fall is in the air, football is almost into the regular season and the World Series will be upon us sooner than can say "You're out!". With the cooler weather comes the reintroduction of some of your autumnal favorites at the Emerald Island Grille!  ​

The Emerald Island Casino and our friends on Water Street have even more new neighbors...Pokémon! Pokémon are fictional creatures.  The name translates to "Pocket Monsters".  The Pokémon Universe began as a couple video games created by Japanese video game designer Satoshi Tajiri for Nintendo.
