It is thought that playing cards were first invented in Imperial China. Evidence of card games has been discovered which dates back to as early as 9th century. The game we know as poker has evolved from ancient card games and has been influenced by games crossing several continents and cultures. Some historians believe that poker’s origins can be traced to a domino-card game played by a 10th-century Chinese emperor; others claim it is a descendant of the Persian card game “As Nas,” which dates back to the 16th century.

On May 23rd, 2016, the Emerald Island Casino will proudly celebrate our official Thirteenth Anniversary and we can't wait to warmly welcome you to our party! ​It's been a great year and we have a lot to be thankful for and to celebrate! Please join us on Saturday, May 21st, for great food, games, and prizes!
Beginning at Noon, all of our players  are invited to enjoy complimentary cake and Irish coffee as well as a huge selection of appetizers. Of course, at the Emerald Island Casino our appetizers aren't limited to little canapés or dainty finger foods!  No way!  In addition to all of the tasty hors d'oeuvres such as egg rolls, teriyaki chicken wings, meatballs with marinara sauce and many others, we are serving up something special for our guests.

The Emerald Island Casino's Keno games offer all of the fun of live Keno without the hassle. If you haven't been to the Emerald Island Casino recently, you may not know that we are in the midst of another renovation to improve the property and to enhance the comfort, convenience and enjoyment of our guests.  In 2014, we expanded the Emerald Island Grille to double our seating capacity.  In March of 2016, we started Phase One of a series of improvements which includes remodeling the men's and women's bathrooms.
