Finished in 1991, the dam that creates the artificial lake is an 18-story high earthen structure that is 4,800 feet in length and 716 feet in width at its base.


History

Lake Las Vegas was conceived by J. Carlton Adair – an actor – in 1967 for Lake Adair. In 1990, Transcontinental Properties bought the property from Ronald Boedekker, who in turn bought 2,000 acres from the United States Government when Adair declared bankruptcy. Also during 1990, water diversion in order to fill the lake began.

Getting to Lake Las Vegas Resort Henderson Nevada is easy. Whether one is embarking from
McCarran Airport, the Las Vegas Strip, or I-15, the best route is going along I-215 to Henderson. At the end of the freeway, one should continue East on the Lake Mead Parkway until one reaches the Lake Las Vegas Parkway.
